Clay
as a Remedy
Clay has been used for thousands of years not only to
make pottery but as a healing remedy. In this 3 evening
workshop we will create spontaneous artistic clay pieces,
as well as a few pots, while integrating a deeper awareness
of clay and its impact on our body. You will learn how
to create simple hand built pots and come away with
a deeper insight into yourself, what it means to 'play'
or 'create' and an understand of why clay is a healer. |

Hand
Building as a healing proces through Ceremony and Ritual
In this 4-day workshop we will be hand-building pottery designed
for specific ceremonies or rituals such as holiday wares or
wedding or birthday items. We will discuss the richness and
possibilities of ritual and deepen our awareness of their
meaning and how they are symbolic. Each student will be designing
their own pots or clay creations based on their own individual
understanding of ceremony or ritual and each students perception
of ceremony or ritual will be honored. This is a great class
for beginners with clay!
Hand
Building Pottery as a Healing Process through the Bowl
In this 3 day workshop we will be hand building bowls. Big
bowls, small bowls; any kind of bowls your heart desires.
We will connect the process of hand building to inner healing
possibilities and reveal how our bowls represent a part of
ourselves. No previous experience with clay is necessary.
We will hand build the first two days and glaze our work in
the third class. Each participant will complete the class
with several finished bowls and a deeper insight into themselves.
