Adult Pottery Classes

BYOB Pottery

Creativity in Community: Your alternative to boredom, bars and blues.
A night out of fun and creativity. Come laugh and play with clay!

Always wanted to try the potter’s wheel? Here’s your opportunity without a long commitment. You are welcome to BYOB and snacks. We start with bowls. This class is all about the experience of trying out the wheel. It's about process not product.

Please note your first pot is free and includes glazing and firing. If you decide you want to keep any additional pots there will be a cost of $10 per piece.

Please note there is no guarantee your piece will make it through the firing process. If your pot breaks you will receive a $10 credit toward your next class or product, you will not be credited another class.

Saturday, March 9th

10:00 AM -1:00PM

$85 per person

Guest Potter Lisa Dolliver will be joining us at the Voice of Clay. Students will learn to color the clay and use it to make interesting, eclectic pottery. Carving will also be demonstrated. We will be using cone 8-10 porcelain and mason stains. No experience needed. Register early as space is limited!

Throwing on the Wheel for Adults

You will see a demonstration each night for 5 weeks and will glaze all your own work in the 6th class. You are welcome to practice on the potter’s wheel and/or hand build. We will be doing both.

Hand-building for All

For all ages -  Hand-building techniques are taught with different projects monthly. February we focus on techniques to build Heart Bowls and March is all about Easter— Make Easter egg cups, egg separators and Bunny Ornaments! April showers bring May flowers — we will focus on Vases in all shapes and sizes. May as we look forward to Summer, we’ll make Ice Cream Bowls! June is all about learning to make plates of all sizes.
