One-Time Beginner Pottery Wheel Throwing Class
$60 per person | For ages teens and up
Creativity in Community: Your alternative to boredom, bars, and blues.
A night out of fun and creativity. Come laugh and play with clay!
*Our classes sell out quickly.*
Always wanted to try the potter’s wheel? Here’s your opportunity without a long commitment. In this class, you can experience throwing on the wheel (two people to a wheel, taking turns)! Each participant gets 1 FREE piece to keep; additional pieces are $10 each. All pottery kept for firing will be glazed by staff in our clear glaze. Prefer to add some color to your work? There are glazing classes available for those interested in painting their pieces. All pottery is ready for pickup one month after the class.
We do not allow beverages or snacks in the studio except water bottles.
Long fingernails are hard to work with because they cut into the clay. We recommend you trim them before coming. Long hair is best tied up. Rings, watches, and bracelets will all get dirty, so please leave them at home. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, including shoes!
Each pottery class is geared toward the experience of clay, and the truth is that when working with clay, sometimes pots break. There is no guarantee that a pot will survive the firing process, much less handling to and from the kiln or even glazing. If your pot gets broken, you will receive a credit of $10. You will not be offered another class free of charge.
When registering, keep in mind that each participant needs to be registered (even though 2 people work on the wheel together). A party of 2 is $60pp or $120. A party of 3 is $180, etc.
Register for a glazing class as well, to add color to your piece. See the registration link below.
Included in class:
1 apron to borrow
1 piece per person
Pottery Tools to use (not to keep, just for class)
A fun experience!
