Open Studio Time

Open studio time is available for those who have some experience and want to practice. No instruction occurs during open-studio time.

The Voice of Clay – Open Studio Package: “Create 6”

A complete creative experience for independent makers. This all-inclusive package provides access to everything you need to complete up to six finished pieces — without tracking individual fees. Ideal for those seeking flexibility within a supportive studio environment.

Package Price: $250

What’s Included:

  • 6 Open Studio Sessions (2 hours each)
    Held Thursday evenings from 6:30–8:30 PM
    (You may attend any six Thursdays– attendance does not need to be consecutive)

  • Up to 12 lbs of studio-provided clay (required – no outside clay permitted without review)

  • Bisque firing for 6 pieces (up to 8 inches in any direction)

  • Full use of studio glazes and glazing tools

  • Glaze firing for all 6 completed pieces

  • Shelf storage for those who work the 6 weeks consecutively. If you can't work consecutive Thursdays, then you must take your pieces with you. Please bring what you need to transport your pots.

Attendance & Storage Policy:

Because shelf space is limited, storage is only available for those working consecutive Thursday sessions. If you miss a week or plan to skip a session, you must bring your pieces home with you and return with them the following Thursday.

Clay Use & Reclaim:
Only clay provided by The Voice of Clay may be used in this package. Any leftover trimmings, slurry, or reclaim clay must be taken home. Please bring a lidded pail to collect and transport your reclaim.

Cleaning Policy:
To maintain a high-quality shared workspace:

  • Participants must clean their wheel, tools, and work area after each session

  • A $25 cleaning fee may be applied if the cleanup is not completed

  • Studio expectations will be reviewed during your first visit

Terms:

  • Any work left unclaimed or unfinished after 6 weeks from your first session may be discarded or recycled at the studio’s discretion

  • Pieces must not exceed 8 inches in any direction

  • Package is non-transferable and non-refundable
